The CA Foundation Course is the new entrance level for the Chartered Accountancy course in India.The candidate can register for the CA Foundation after appearing in 12th board examinations and take the exam after qualifying the 12th examinations.
CA Foundation is exempt for graduates, post-graduates and the students having equivalent degrees. Commerce graduated with 55% and other graduated with 60% marks can take direct admission for the CA Intermediate.
CA Intermediate is the second level exam which is divided into 2 groups, each group contain 4 papers. Chartered Accountancy Course in India. Students after clearing CA Foundation become eligible to register for the CA Intermediate. Alternatively, graduates, postgraduates or students having equivalent degrees can directly register for the CA Intermediate exam without appearing for the entry level exams.
A student after clearing either one group or both the groups can commence articleship training for three years under a practising Chartered Accountant.
The third level of the CA (Chartered Accountancy) course conducted by the ICAI (Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) is identified as Final. This is the third level course for any student intending to take up the chartered accountancy course after CPT (Common Proficiency Test).
Chartered Secretaries are employed as chairs, chief executives and non-executive directors, as well as executives and company secretaries. Career as a Company Secretary is not only prestigious and financially rewarding but also carries with it a high level of job satisfaction.
The student who would like to join the Course after 10+2 has to undergo three stages to pursue the Company Secretaries Course i.e. Foundation Programme, Executive Programme, Professional Programme.
Foundation Programme which is of eight months duration can be pursued by 10+2 pass students of Arts, Science or Commerce stream.
The second stage is CS Executive, when pursuing company secretaries course. Executive Programme can be pursued by a Graduates of all streams except Fine Arts. Candidates who have passed the Foundation examination or are eligible for exemption there from and are not less than 17 years of age may seek registration as a student for the Executive Programme.
The final stage is CS Professional, when pursuing company secretaries course. Professional Programme can be pursued only after clearing the Executive Programme of CS Course. Examination is conducted twice a year in June and December.
